BUILD.  MEET PEOPLE. HAVE FUN.

During the first Baltimore Hackathon, teams and individuals will compete to build a hardware or software project from idea to prototype.  The goals of the event are to meet other technologists, have fun, and build new things. Opening ceremonies begin on Friday, 11/19/10 at 6 pm.  The event takes place at Beehive Baltimore inside the Can Company Building at 2400 Boston St, Baltimore, Maryland.

SCHEDULE

Full details are still being planned, but the basics are this: after the opening ceremonies on 11/19/10 you can spend the weekend working in whatever space you choose but we strongly encourage you to spend as much time as you can either at the Beehive.

Each team will have approximately 90 seconds to present their project to judges and to their fellow hackers on Sunday afternoon (11/21/10). Awards will be presented during closing ceremonies at 6 pm on Sunday.

Judges will be recognizing the best projects in these categories:

• Best Software Prototype - Individual ($150)
• Best Software Prototype - Group ($350)
• Best Hardware Prototype - Individual ($150)
• Best Hardware Prototype - Group ($350)
• Audience Favorite ($150)

RULES

The rules will evolve via this Google Doc over the next month or so.  We encourage you to add to that doc and ask questions via the doc.  The rules will be considered final when opening ceremonies begin.
